TYPES OF HUMAN HAIR
Hey KuzaBeauts,
It's a known fact that a lot of women want that instant, longer, fuller hair in different styles, colours and textures which is why we use extensions. Speaking of extensions, we will be focusing on human hair extensions and its options in this article.
Human hair extensions, just as the name implies, is basically an extension that is human hair.People are mostly familiar with sew ins as the only type of human hair extension but there are other types eg wefts, itips, tape ins and clip ins and we'll be learning about them together.
BEADED WEFTS
Weft hair extensions are made these strips with real human hair which are sewn on to a horizontal strip or “weft.” They are fastened to the natural hair by attaching very small portions of the extension’s strands with small pieces of the natural strands and securing it with a bead at the roots. The beads are silicone, made to protect both your hair as well as keep the extensions in place.
CLIP INS
These are a very fast answer to switching up your looks in a few minutes without doing so much. You don't need any special guidance for this because it's easy to use. All you have to do is just clip in the extension, literally. When clipped, they are fastened to the roots of strands, and can be closely matched and blended with the natural hair for a more voluminous and natural look.
Clip in hair extensions are a very great just want to temporarily change your look. You'll have to carefully clip it into the root of your strands to avoid your hair being tugged on and ripped out. When the day is over, you'll just unclip it carefully and store. It can be used multiple times.
TAPE INS
Tape hair extensions are installed by taping pre-taped human hair together on to either side of your natural hair. A perfectly done tape in installation should align with the roots of the natural hair, and applied with a heated tool so that the tape heats up and attaches the strands together, giving it a natural look. They are semi-permananet and don't last as long as the weft extension.
This type of extention should be installed an uninstalled by a professional (or a professional DIYer). They are reuseable too. The only con is that the process of applying and removing tape-in hair extensions can cause damage to the hair since heat is iused to install it.
I-TIPS
These are a type of hair extension that when installed, latches onto natural hair using flattened microbeads. They are individual pieces of hair that are used with a cylinder like piece that is interlooped around the natural hair. It will last between 6 and 8 months.
They let you have easy access to the scalp. This because all your natural hair will be left out and your hair can breathe better. I-tip installation is done in an hour and a half. This extension allows for more versatile styling. It has a natural look, so you can style it just as you would your natural hair. They can be washed, blow-dried, curled, or straightened and colored too.
